Certain areas of Surbiton Court, including the roof, tank rooms, and communal electricity meter cupboards, are restricted.
Access to the roof is strictly controlled in order to avoid damage to the integrity of its surface. The roof was completely renewed in 1990: since then it has been regularly inspected, cleaned and repainted with solar-reflective paint in order to maintain its integrity.
